Building Tour
Lewis Wharf was once the home of the fast clipper ships. The six story Granite Building, now known as Lewis Wharf Condominiums, was built in the 1830s by a group of merchants whose clipper ships sailed all over the world in search of tea, spices, furs, gold and other exotic cargoes.
The Granite Building was converted into condominiums in 1972-73. There are 90 residential units on the top four floors and 41 commercial units on the first and second floors. The condominiums at Lewis Wharf feature high ceilings, original brick bearing walls and Georgia yellow pine beams. The staff who cover the front desk 24 hours a day are among the most experienced and dedicated on the Waterfront. There is a large seasonal swimming pool and a beautifully landscaped garden. A rental parking space is available for each unit.
